About Me

Hello!

My name is Alexis and I want to share my story with you.

I became a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate to help provide a safe space and a nonjudgmental listening ear to others who have felt that they were struggling to be their best selves and live their most authentic lives.

My journey with therapy began at the young age of 4 when my parents were divorcing and my family wanted me to have a space of my own to discover and express what my true feelings and emotional needs would be over the course of growing up as a child of divorce.

Ever since then I have known that I wanted to give back to others what my therapist had worked so hard to help me develop.

And that was my voice.

I have also developed a passion to help transform the relationships that my clients have with important people in their lives, whether it’s a partner, parent, sibling, friend, etc, by increasing validation and mutual understanding through effective and healthy communication and conflict resolution strategies.

Over the years, I have continued working with therapists to navigate the complexities that life throws at us and I am forever grateful for the guidance they unconditionally provided as I’ve learned the coping skills, boundaries, and communication skills that have helped with developing healthy relationships with myself and the people in my life.

I’ve learned how to let go of what is out of my control and shifted my perspective to spend more of my emotional energy on what I have instead of what I do not have and want to provide support to those that are looking to do the same.

I work with individuals, couples, and families and use models of treatment that focus on healthy relationships, emotional awareness and expression, increasing positive self-talk and improving quality of life.

I have experience working in the community mental health field, as well as in Inpatient and Outpatient Dual Diagnosis Substance Use and Mental Health Treatment centers. Some of my treatment modalities include Emotion-Focused Therapy, Family Systems, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care.

As a therapist, I truly value creating a supportive and safe therapeutic relationship with my clients that allows space for them to heal and grow. I strive to become a compassionate, nonjudgmental guide who can provide support to clients who are seeking help with improving their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Let me help to support you in your journey and help you find your voice!
