Hi, I’m Ashton!
About Me
Welcome!
I’m glad you’re here. Reaching out for support can feel intimidating, especially when you’re already carrying stress, uncertainty, or challenges that feel difficult to navigate on your own. Whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself or your child, taking that first step is an important act of self-care. My goal is to provide a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change.
Who I Work With
I work with children, teens, and adults facing a variety of concerns, including anxiety, life transitions, self-exploration, and personal growth. Life can bring unexpected challenges, changes, and questions about who we are and where we’re headed. Whether you’re navigating stress at school, changes in relationships, career decisions, family concerns, or simply trying to better understand yourself, therapy can provide a space to process experiences and build confidence moving forward.
My goal is to help clients identify their strengths, develop healthy coping skills, and build the tools needed to face life’s challenges with greater resilience and self-awareness.
My Therapeutic Approach
I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative and tailored to each individual’s unique needs. No two people have the same experiences, which is why I take a flexible approach that focuses on what matters most to you.
My therapeutic style incorporates:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – helping clients identify their values, develop psychological flexibility, and move toward a meaningful life even when challenges arise.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – exploring the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while developing practical strategies for change.
Person-Centered Therapy – creating a supportive, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences and goals.
I strive to meet clients where they are, helping them build insight, confidence, and practical skills that support lasting growth.

What You Can Expect
Many clients come to therapy wondering:
- How can I better manage anxiety and stress?
- Why do I feel stuck or uncertain about my next steps?
- How can I build more confidence in myself?
- What healthy coping skills can help me navigate challenges?
- How can I better understand myself and my experiences?
Therapy offers an opportunity to explore these questions in a supportive environment while working toward meaningful personal goals. Together, we’ll identify strengths, address obstacles, and develop strategies that help you move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
Why I Am Becoming a Counselor
I am passionate about helping people feel supported as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. I believe everyone deserves a space where they can be heard without judgment and encouraged to grow into the version of themselves they want to become. As a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern at Wingate University, I am committed to learning, growing, and providing compassionate care that supports each client’s unique journey.
Here For You
Seeking support is a courageous step, and you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Whether you’re facing anxiety, a major life transition, or simply looking to better understand yourself, I look forward to walking alongside you in the process. Together, we’ll work toward building confidence, strengthening coping skills, and creating meaningful growth that aligns with your goals and values.
“ The struggle is real, but so is your capacity to change and grow. ”
