About Me

Hi! I’m Caroline.

Therapy with me is different than most therapists because I truly understand how intimidating therapy can feel at first and I’m not here to judge your story instead I am here to listen.

When working with me, I will help you to explore your emotions, thoughts, and desires while helping you to identify the future you have always wanted.

Understanding what you are experiencing can be confusing and something you might not understand how to process. Not to worry because this is my expertise.

In order to understand that, let me tell you a quick story of why I became a therapist.

Throughout my life, I have experienced a WIDE RANGE of emotions such as sadness, anger, frustration, and confusion without having an understanding as to why I was experiencing these emotions. It felt as if it came out of NOWHERE.

I had NO IDEA how to have a better understanding of my emotions and so I STRUGGLED with being able to appropriately express my emotions to others.

CONSTANTLY tried to figure out what seemed to intensify my emotions or set off my emotions, but I was unsuccessful in understanding what was going on with me or my past/present experiences.

So I started seeing a therapist so that I could figure out what was going on with my emotions, identify my triggers, heal from my past experiences, while learning how to COPE in a more effective way.

The more I felt like I was spiraling and felt like I was living in CHAOS, the more I realized that there were so many things that I did not know about myself or how to appropriately express my emotions to others.

By going to my therapist she helped me to better UNDERSTAND MYSELF. I was able to explore my anxiety and begin to have a better understanding of why I was experiencing it instead of feeling like it was happening for no reason. She also helped me to understand my triggers which would lead to anger and then confusion because I would then get mad at the wrong person or situation.

Therapy helped me to be curious about myself instead of being constantly JUDGMENTAL and HARSH on myself. This helped me to discover more clarity with my emotions, identify my triggers, understand that my past experiences were currently impacting my present life, and how to stop that cycle so that I could begin to live the life I wanted to be living.

My therapy experience helped me realize that I also want to help others get the same answers and understanding in their lives just as much as I want answers for myself. This is what lead me to become a Clinical Social Worker.

I’ll Help You Find The Answers.

I became a therapist because I am passionate about helping women with understanding their emotions, desires, and life choices.

Society judges us constantly as women, whether it is our career, clothing style, dating, marriage, children or no children, breast feeding or bottle feeding, parenting styles, or any other life choices we make. We face these societal pressures DAILY.

But let’s also get real for a minute. We also pressure OURSELVES with our high expectations of being perfect. For example, the perfect employee, the perfect boss, the perfect partner, the perfect wife, the perfect mother, the perfect parent, the perfect friend, the perfect daughter, the perfect aunt, and the list can go on forever. We are always giving ourselves to others and honestly… we totally drain ourself out and forget that we also need to take care of ourselves too.

Throughout my adulthood, I fought AGAINST the anxious black-and-white thinking of having the need to be perfect all the time. Over time I noticed that this deeply impacted my self-worth in such vital ways that it created depression. Challenging these beliefs and thinking mistakes, helped me to explore the origin of why I felt the need to be perfect all the time which then helped me to have a better understanding of myself and to allow myself to experience SELF-COMPASSION for the first time in a really long time.

This time in life can be difficult and overwhelming. There’s always these questions:

  • Can I really put myself first because I have always been taught to put others needs before my own?
  • Does that make me selfish or a bad person to focus on myself?
  • What needs do I even need to start with?
  • How do I balance taking care of my family’s needs, while also being able to take care of my individual needs?
  • What will other people think about me?
  • Will this ruin my relationship with my family, friends, or co-workers?
  • What hobbies do I have anymore? (What is that and who has time for that?!)
  • Self-care, what’s that anymore?

We love to prioritize everyone else before ourselves. We have immense compassion for others, making sure our family, partner, children, and friends are all okay, before we ever check in on us. Where is our self-compassion? We don’t allow ourselves to make mistakes. We even forget what brings us joy, passion, and excitement. Therapy can help to create opportunities of JOY in our lives again.

No matter where you’re at in your journey, I believe that there is always HOPE — regardless of what life has thrown at you or what you’ve tried before.

I will help you find the answer to what is getting in the way and I will show you how to get the life you want.

You deserve better than just getting by, you deserve to THRIVE.

I would be honored to walk next to you on YOUR journey with the good, the bad, and the ugly because we all know we all got it (no judgment here only acceptance). I want to help HONOR your past experiences, get to know you now, and help you to get to your future self.

Stop waiting for things to get better on their own and come chat with me. I am waiting to hear from you!
