ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Luke.
In my past professional work experiences, I have helped individuals and families from all walks of life who have experienced trauma and grief.
I have seen the positive impacts of having a SAFE SPACE to work through ones own life challenges and tragedies.
Having this safe space to talk with someone can be LIFE CHANGING because it can allow you the time you need to process through what happened so then you can being to work on how to heal from those experiences.
Having a counselor who is UNDERSTANDING and ACTIVELY LISTENS to what you are saying allows you the ability to continue to move forward, preserve your well-being, and learn to grow from your experiences no matter how difficult it may be.
I want to provide you with a welcoming and compassionate safe space where you can tell your whole story and truly be your authentic self WITHOUT fear of judgment.
My goal is to help provide you with support and guidance when working through your most difficult times in your life while also striving to help you develop self-empowerment, find balance, and achieve what is most important to you.
When working with you, I will use an individualized, person-centered approach, as well as utilize different concepts from a wide variety of evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
If you have no idea what these terms mean, you are not alone because most people have to google what they are when looking for a therapist. So I get it! I am going to try to help describe it to you without using those terms in a very brief explanation.
I like to meet people where they currently are in their journey. I create a unique specific treatment plan that will help them reach their chosen goals in therapy and/or life goals. I use different types of counseling techniques based on what the person is needing at that time. Those techniques have been research PROVEN to have more positive benefits for people then negative ones.
For example, I listen to your life journey up until this point in life in order to help me get a better sense of who you are and where you have come from. By understanding your past and learning about what is happening today, I can help to provide you with the most effective coping skill, ways to further process your experiences, and/or provide an alternate way to view an experience.
The counseling journey is about discovering more about who you were, who you are today, and designing a way to become the person you want to be.
Wherever you are in your life journey, just know you do not have to face them alone. I know it can be the hardest step to take but click the request an appointment and you can select whether you would like a consult or if you would like to go ahead and set up your first appointment with me.
Don’t waste this opportunity because instead of saying “I wish I did this earlier” you could be saying “I am so happy I started when I did.”
Let’s start working on making your life worth LIVING again!
