I’m different than most therapists out there. What makes therapy with me different?
Well in order to understand that, let me tell you the quick story of why I am becoming a therapist.
From a young age, I saw many families and friends struggle with long-term mental health issues that were left untreated.
Over the years, I have observed many of these individuals struggle with challenging events and/or trauma grow into adults constantly struggling with crisis’.
I would think to myself if only they were able to see a counselor when they were younger maybe this could all have been avoided for them.
While in my counseling program at Charleston Southern University, I experienced 2 very close friends die by suicide due to untreated mental health concerns.
I am grateful that due to my counseling training in graduate school that I was able to grieve through their loss.
The secure attachment I have learned through my many years of personal resiliency and honest self-evaluation along with wisdom and insight from others has allowed me to make it through this time with GRACE and STRENGTH.
I am proud to be able to hold space for people who are struggling in their life journeys by accepting them for where they are AND continue to challenge them to move forward when they are able to.
As a counseling intern, I want to be able to help assist people in guiding them towards better mental and physical health.
I am guided by the gifts of Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Humility to bring about AUTHENTIC Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.
I have a passion working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Military and veteran families are a special interest of mine due to my personal service.
I am excited to begin my counseling internship and begin working with anyone who desires to have a BETTER quality of life and healthier relationships.
I will help you find the answers to what is getting in the way and I will show you how to get the life you want.
You deserve better than just getting by, you deserve to THRIVE.
