Hi, I’m Lauren!
About Me
Welcome!
Hey there! I’m genuinely thrilled that you’re here. Whether you’re stepping into therapy for the first time, searching for a fresh perspective, or returning after some time away, I understand this journey can feel like a whirlwind of emotions. No matter where you find yourself right now, I want you to know that you have a safe space here. Together, we can navigate the complexities of life, explore your thoughts and feelings, and work toward the growth and healing you deserve.
Who I Work With
I am passionate about helping a diverse range of clients, including college students, young adults, middle-aged individuals, and wise adults. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to heal and grow, regardless of their stage in life.
My Approach To Clinical Supervision
As the Owner and Clinical Director of Stegall Counseling PLLC, I’m dedicated not only to supporting my own clients but also to guiding our entire team of therapists. I provide supervision and mentorship to our clinicians, which means they can reach out to brainstorm ideas, discuss challenges, and gain insight on the best ways to support their clients. This collaborative approach allows us to bring a wealth of experience and perspectives to each client’s journey, ensuring that, at times, they have the benefit of two therapists working together to support their progress and growth.

Common Questions You Might Have
This time in life can bring many questions and challenges. I understand that this time in your life might be overwhelming, and you may have questions like:
• Are you struggling with anxiety or depression?
• Do you feel lost or disconnected from your true passion?
• Are you dealing with low self-esteem or negative thought patterns?
• Have you experienced trauma or challenges related to your cultural identity?
No matter what you’re going through, I’m here to walk alongside you. There is hope, and together, we can work towards a place where you can thrive.
My Approach to Therapy
In our sessions, I aim to keep things casual and flowing naturally. Many of my clients have told me they appreciate how our conversations feel organic and genuine, rather than sterile or scripted like they’ve experienced in the past. I love creating a space where you can be yourself, and I can help identify the approaches and skills that will best support your journey.
I believe that laughter can be a powerful tool in therapy, so I often bring humor into our sessions—always with compassion and only after we’ve built a solid understanding of each other. This helps make the process feel more comfortable and relatable.
My therapeutic techniques includes:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Behavioral Therapy
- Exposure Therapy
- Person-Centered Therapy
- Humanistic Therapy
- Animal-Assisted Therapy
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
- Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
- Art Therapy
- Music Therapy
- Play Therapy
- Collaborative Therapy
- Feminist Therapy
- Relational Therapy
- Brief Solution-Focused Therapy
- Culturally Sensitive Therapy
- Multicultural Counseling
- Christian Counseling
- Compassion-Focused Therapy

- Self-Exploration and Identity Development
Ultimately, my goal is to create a warm, supportive environment where you can gain insight, regulate your emotions, and make meaningful progress—no matter where you’re starting from.
Why I Became a Therapist
I’m different from most therapists out there. What makes therapy with me different? Well, to understand that, let me share my story.
After graduating from college, I felt lost. I bounced from job to job, struggling to find my true passion, which led to intense anxiety. I didn’t feel like myself, and my family and friends noticed my change in demeanor; I went from being joyful and laughing often to wanting to avoid social interactions altogether.
Despite my attempts to maintain a positive outlook, toxic work environments drained my energy, leaving me with physical symptoms of anxiety—racing heart, feelings of panic, and an overwhelming desire to escape. My mom finally urged me to seek help, suggesting I talk to a counselor about my feelings.
Initially, I resisted the idea, fearing judgment and misunderstanding. However, after a few more weeks of debilitating anxiety, I realized I could no longer endure this internal struggle and made the call for an appointment.
On the day of my first session, I experienced a wave of panic. I cried on the way there, terrified of what my therapist might think. After a few moments of deep breathing in my car, I managed to gather the courage to go inside.
Once I sat down in her office, I was met with warmth and acceptance. Therapy was nothing like I had expected. My therapist helped me recognize the importance of my emotions and guided me in understanding how they could illuminate my path, even when they felt overwhelming.
Over several months of weekly sessions, I discovered that my job was not aligned with my true passion, and I began to prioritize my mental health above all else. The compassion, grace, and empathy I received in therapy inspired me to become a counselor myself. I wanted to be a guiding light for others navigating their struggles and help them understand that they are not alone in their journeys.
Here for You
If you’re feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or even hesitant about starting therapy, know that you’re not alone. Taking the first step can be intimidating, but it can also be the beginning of a journey toward greater understanding, resilience, and peace. I’m here to support you every step of the way, providing a space where you can feel safe, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges.
Whatever you’re facing, there is hope for change. Together, we’ll work to uncover your strengths, build on them, and create a path toward the life you truly want. You deserve more than just getting by—you deserve to thrive.
